No mentioning of the Staples in an out building or is that not part of the mall property? And I thought I had read somewhere that a Lowe's was going to be built somewhere on the property. Why was the David's Bridal allowed to stay in the same store, why not tear it down and give them new space? Their building kinda stands out from the rest. Any info on why the old Northway Mall still stands (at least last time I was there) or if it has finally been taken down why it took so long?Camelbinky (talk) 06:28, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good point about Staples. It's listed in the tenant list for the enclosed mall as an out building, but it "crossed over" (by virtue of not leaving and that out building not being demolished). Perhaps a section listing crossover buildings when the main mall was demolished would be good. Such would include the Lechmere and movie theater buildings, which were later demolished, as well as the David's Bridal building which was formerly in the mall. Lowe's is listed in the later tenants section within the strip/power center portion of the history. I think the reason the David's Bridal store was allowed to remain was because it was newer than the rest of the mall. When Silo's entered the old mall, a new building was made. Silo's closed in Northway Mall and later went bankrupt (maybe the closing there was part of bankruptcy and closing of all stores?). David's Bridal took over that space. As I remember, the David's Bridal building was repainted to match colors with the target building in the main strip of the new power center. Yx7791 (talk) 03:37, 6 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Nice job on the article! I've been hoping that someone could get an article like this up. I have been actively searching for pictures over the past few months, but it seems that none exist. I'll keep my eyes out though. Kjscotte34 (talk) 16:57, 4 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Northway Shopping Center

[edit]

I went to Target last night, and noticed there is a new sign that's been put up. The sign reads "Northway Shopping Center". There's a link here to one of the Times Union blogs showing the sign being put up. It's the only thing I could find, so those of us watching the article should keep an eye out for anything official. Here's the link: http://blog.timesunion.com/business/northway-shopping-center-gets-updated-sign/54005/
