Legacy
[edit]I am rather uncomfortable with the Legacy section here. Personally I don't get too excited over the original research aspect, if someone is just saying what is still standing, but it needs to be dated. What remained when someone had a look several years ago may not still be there.
I think that the Thorneywood station house is still standing, but I couldn't trace the St Ann's Well house. Does any local person have better information?
So far as "Part of Bluebell Hill Tunnel in Sneinton found a new use as a rifle range" is concerned, that probably isn't encyclopaedic unless the usage became very long-term and of significant competitive standard. If it was just three or four people went there a couple of times a month, it probably ought not to be in the article. Bluebell Hill Tunnel was really called Sneinton Tunnel; the Bluebell Hill name only appears in a diagram in volume 1 of Birch's book.
"The line was operated from the outset by the GNR, to which the line was later leased." I don't think the lease part of that is true. As far as I can see it was worked, but not leased, by the GNR.Afterbrunel (talk) 16:12, 19 December 2019 (UTC)
- Kingscott's book has some information; a photograph of St Ann's Well station house is shown. He says Sherwood station has completely disappeared, but doesn't refer to the present state of Thorneywood. I'll make the necessary changes. Afterbrunel (talk) 14:26, 20 December 2019 (UTC)
