The sourcing requirements for these type of articles are governed by WP:HISTRS, pursuant to longstanding consensus at WT:INB. Effectively, this is a prohibition on using Raj-era histories and premodern primary sources. Further, see text-source integrity:

  • Wikipedia cannot state these "claims of descent" in its own voice. They are seldom factual.
  • How is this citation relevant? What is the source?
  • Salim, Ghulam Husain. Riyaz-us-Salatin and Chishti, Abdul Rahman (1648). Mirat al Asrar and 'Abd al-Haqq al-Dehlawi. Akhbarul Akhyar are all premodern chronicles written centuries ago. At best, you can cite a critical translation.
  • The Banglapedia entry on Tomb Architecture confirms that our subject was buried at Chhoti Dargha, [P]andua in an open enclosure, [..] conform[ing] to the orthodox belief that 'only the pious deeds of the dead will offer him protection and shade'. There is nothing on some "Shash Hazari Dargah"; if the names are synonymous, you need to provide sources.
  • The Banglapedia entry on Eklakhi Maousloeum has nothing on Alauddin Husain Shah making yearly visits to the shrine or granting a number of villages for maintaining the alms-house and madrasah. This has been sourced from the Banglapedia entry on Nur Qutb Alam.
  • Al-Hafiz, Musa. শতাব্দির চিঠি is an incomplete citation. We need the publisher, ISBN, publication year etc.

Please do not write articles off a single source (here, Karim's article at Banglapedia): that is the recipe for introducing POV. There are very nuanced explanations of the Ganesha-episode in histories published across the last few decades. TrangaBellam (talk) 22:07, 18 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]
