Talk:On the Air (TV series)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
On The Air was incredibly weird. I suspect this was the weirdest thing to ever pass as a mainstream sitcom on NA television, and is therefore historically significant. The complete series remains readily available by Shareaza, allowing verification of any edits by 216.138.194.68 or User:Yiddophile. (Thanks also to Shareaza, since I have now seen the full series, not just the four episodes I videotaped off Canadian airwaves in 1992.)
As a proud Lynch fan, I will contact David Lynch, see if he owns the rights and will allow for small video samples to be added to the Wikimedia project (thought I doubt he'll object, he appears to embrace new technology and new media).
David, if you're reading, let's step outside for a cigarette and a good discussion of Eraserhead, mmm'Kay?

Re Unverified statements. Watch 7 episodes, and you'll not only see that everything written was true, but you'll also laugh your ass off. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 209.217.123.38 (talk) 07:29, August 21, 2007 (UTC)

Blinky's oven mitt.

[edit]

I removed the phrase "It comes off oven mitt. Oven mitt. Oven mitt." from the Blinky Watts section because it didn't make a lick of sense. If there's a context that would make the comment comprehensible, it should be included in the article. Dcwaterboy (talk) 20:38, 20 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

In need of a serious rewrite

[edit]

This article is almost entirely non-encyclopedic, contains original research, and seems to try and be humorous in its descriptions of characters and episodes, becoming misleading in the process. McGonigle is a "trans-dimensional entity"? People are "immortals" because they're not killed as a result of the slapstick gags? (I wonder if who wrote this also thinks Laurel & Hardy were demons and Chaplin a Great Old One). Several parts of the article are also written in a style that's confusing and hard to understand. A few elements are either made up or extrapolated from minor mentions which in no way were intended as defining traits (e.g. Gochktch doesn't have "a penchant for mink oil", he only mentions mink oil once in passing during the setup of a different gag, without expressing any particular attachment to it).
