Survey
[edit]- Comment This was originally requested uncontroversial move which Anthony Appleyard converted to this discussion here. 70.29.209.121 (talk) 09:39, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
- Oppose all. The inclusion of Clancy's name seems to me to be a marketing exercise, rather than part of the novel's title as most would understand it. I do however feel that Wikipedia:Naming conventions (books) isn't helpful on this particular matter, and could perhaps do with some work. Andrewa (talk) 15:33, 6 December 2009 (UTC)
- Comment many of the Tom Clancy franchise books articles already have "Tom Clancy" in the article titles. 70.29.209.121 (talk) 03:54, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
- Comment I don't think it was appropriate for the conversion to make this a "group nomination" since various moves had different rationales. 70.29.209.121 (talk) 04:12, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
- All these nominations were by the same user, who is anonymous, and all the renames included adding "Tom Clancy's", so I thought that they could conveniently be discussed together. And, as I suspected might happen, there is already an "oppose" vote, so these moves are not uncontroversial. Anthony Appleyard (talk) 07:05, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
- That does not mean they should be grouped together. 76.66.192.35 (talk) 10:29, 7 December 2009 (UTC)

- In the case of Tom Clancy's Op-Center, the article is about the series, and the issues are different IMO. The two named above should possibly be renamed if this move is rejected, visit that in due course. Andrewa (talk) 14:20, 7 December 2009 (UTC)
- Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon are also about the series, and not the novel, the novels use "(novel)" 76.66.194.220 (talk) 07:45, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
