Please do not delete this article. OpenTaal is providing free open source spelling and grammar checking files to the international open source community. In this field, they are doing, in cooperation with organisations in only a few other countries, ground breaking work in semi automatically gathering and classifying words, synonyms, hyphenations, etc. to be used for free by all. E.g. many Dutch speaking users of web browsers use its spelling check, also when translating Wikipedia articles from English to Dutch. But mainly it is noteworthy in the way an open community has formed to efficiently develop language support. SvGeloven (talk) 12:18, 17 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with you. This article is not subject to WP:A7 because it does assert its own notability in such phrases as "OpenTaal provides files for spelling check which are being used in software such as...". Whether that makes it actually notable per our requirements is another matter entirely (note that notability is not inherited, so you'll want stronger indications)--but in its current form this article should not be speedied. I'm removing the tag and notifying the tagger, who may immediately nominate the article for deletion. --NYKevin @234, i.e. 04:37, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
