[edit]Comments
[edit]- I'm revising the etymology to lose the "aureus" source, since I find no authority for this. Fitzaubrey (talk) 01:59, 28 May 2008 (UTC)
- Have removed the request for image tag, and the category "may no longer need photo". There are three photos which look good to me. If someone believes an additional photo or photos are needed please reinsert the "image needed" tag and put a description of the needed image here in the discussion page. Subtypes
[edit]1. Oriel subtypes appear to include:
- Ipswich Window
- Mashrabiya
- Chumba
- ...?
2. Are those pictured examples with multiple floors (and particularly the one in Oloron-Sainte-Marie) actually oriels?
3. Does oriel actually need a separate article from Bay Window, or could it fit in a section there?

oglaf cultural reference
[edit]Oriel is also the title used in oglaf to humorously describe a different sort of jutting window: http://oglaf.com/oriel/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.231.58.8 (talk) 23:26, 16 September 2016 (UTC)
