[edit]

Ortenburg-Neuortenburg doesn't exist so long. After the death of Henry V. it got again part of Ortenburg. Sebsatian I. was the next emperor of the hole county of Ortenburg. --84.145.224.68 19:21, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I forgot that Ortenburg-Neuortenburg, also was the name of a castle in the county. --84.145.224.68 19:23, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A branch of the Ortenburgs continued in Carinthia. They died out some time in the 16th C IIRC. - Nomadic1 20:21, 15 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

German-Wiki

[edit]

Ortenburg-Neu-Ortenburg was part of the county Ortenburg! The Possession was devided between different lines, like Alt-Ortenburg, Dorfbach, etc. But the Count of Ortenburg always changed between the lines, always the oldest of the monarchy was allowed to be the count! The counts of Ortenburg in Carinthia weren't a branch of Orteburg, they've never been any relationship between the Countys, but the bavarian counts hopped so, to get the Possession of them. I found on the germen Wikipedia some sites for the counts and the county, look here: [1] [2] If someone can translate it, we could get here a very fine article. --84.145.244.156 (talk) 16:26, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I am not fluent in German but the links you provided suggests to me that the Ortenburgs of Carinthia are related to the Ortenburgs of present day Bavaria. If you can point me to the section that implys no conection I would be happy to reread.--CSvBibra (talk) 23:00, 14 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
There are two other german articles about that. One is for the county in Carinthia, where stands, that the only joint possession and relationship of the counties was their name. Look here [3]. The other article [4] is about the inheritance fight of the bavarian counts to get the ownerless county in Carinthia since the middle of the 15th century. Sorry for my bad english, I'm not a native speaker. --84.145.194.7 (talk) 07:35, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Rename/Move

[edit]

Hello, we should rename or move this article to an other name. Ortenburg-Neuortenburg was a branch of the 'House of Ortenburg', but not the county! The county itself was only called Ortenburg and before 1531 Ortenberg. Furthermore was the House of Ortenburg a branch of the House of Sponheim. We also must consider, that in Carinthia also was a county with the name 'Ortenburg'. Both counties didn't have any togetherness! Could anybody help? --Ortenburger 20:42, 4 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, the Name Ortenburg-Neuortenburg is wrong, it was only th name of a branch of the House of Ortenburg. Should we perhaps use the name in the Infobox Imperial County of Ortenburg? It is the only correct one for the former county. --Ortenburger 06:13, 22 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
