palagonite formation[edit]

I believe that palagonite forms very quickly after an eruption not as a weathering alteration product. I have research this topic and you may find results at www.monolake.org —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.121.33.140 (talk) 08:01, 22 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It forms during any eruption involving magma and water and is usually associated with surtseyan eruptions. The Geologist (talk) 17:49, 22 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

hyaloclastite[edit]

the definition here is absolutely wrong! hyaloclastite is teh texture caused by QUENCH FRAGMENTATION; you do not need sideromelane-- only glass due to quenching AND fragmentation due to that quenching process. The fragments, as a result, have cuspate, curvilinear margins. See McPhie et al., (1993) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 209.112.171.244 (talk) 03:24, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Images[edit]

It would be great to have pictures of this stuff. The Jade Knight (talk) 13:11, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
