I do not know of any justification for claiming that Abdu'l-Baha edited and approved Paris Talks. The history of the text is obscure, but what is stated in the foreward to the English edition is not correct. The notes were apparently taken in French, and probably in Persian in some cases, and it appears that the English translation of the French notes may have been made with referece to the Persian notes in at least one talk. It is not authentic scripture, since no Persian original exists Sen Mcglinn 14:27, 17 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

You are right. See [1] for the exact statement by the Universal House of Justice and its research department. The specific statement says:

Unfortunately, Abdu'l-Bahá did not read and authenticate all transcripts of His other talks, some of which have been translated into various languages and published. For many of His addresses included in "The Promulgation of Universal Peace" and "Paris Talks", for example, no original authenticated text has yet been found. However, the Guardian allowed such compilations to continue to be used by the friends. In the future each talk will have to be identified and those which are unauthenticated will have to be clearly distinguished from those which form a part of Baha'i Scripture. This does not mean that the unauthenticated talks will have to cease to be used -- merely that the degree of authenticity of every document will have to be known and understood. (23 March 1987)

Fair use rationale for Image:Paristalks.jpg[edit]

Image:Paristalks.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
