Content review with reliable published sources and remove original research and fancy statements
[edit]Much of the content was an original research and without reliable and published source or the sources in references did not give the information. For exemple Following the reliable published sources the proven the proven genealogy of this family goes back to the 18th Century in Châteauroux in France, no reliable published sources prove a fancy connection to a Scottish family named Parton in the 15th century. --Wiabc (talk) 18:23, 25 June 2022 (UTC)
Same comment as above : Before anny new modification, please check the exact content of the sources given in references to avoid reporting false information as it was just done by an IP adress --Dbline (talk) 08:19, 3 July 2023 (UTC)
- Hello,
- I created an account to keep track of edits. I am the IP address who edited the page yesterday (37.166.13.145). I'm new to editing on Wikipedia, so sorry for my questions. I don't understand why the edit was not accepted - Did you check the two sources added? I cannot paste them here, but they were references 9 and 10 from the previous version. They textually say what was indicated. Is it not an acceptable source?
- Besides, I think the typos and spellings should just be corrected. For example, the name of the country of Belgium is not "Beggium", and there should be dots at the end of sentences. I'm sorry if I don't understand, but it is quite clear that these should be at least corrected to make a good article. I'm sorry you consider this edit "vandalism" which seems like a strong term. I just intended to increase the quality of this, by correcting the grammar and spelling, and adding two valid sources.
- Thanks! Généalogie familiale (talk) 10:05, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
- There is no problem with grammar and spelling corrections, thanks for that.
- The problem is the choice of reliable sources and not using ancient sources known to be unreliable such as Charles Poplimont, La Belgique héraldique.
- Also, it is important for the credibility of an article to analyze the reliability of the information given by old sources which copy each other without any checking and not to copy what appears to be inaccurate with today's knowledge. --Dbline (talk) 17:01, 6 July 2023 (UTC)
