Unfortunately I was unable to locate a good biography about this scientist. There were indications that he may have attended Wheaton College, then worked at the University of Minnesota (1962) and Columbia University. He apparently served with the GEOSECS in some capacity. He was described as a magmatist, and several of his papers dealt with trace elements in materials. But I couldn't solidify this information sufficiently.
