[edit]I removed the external link to http://polyhymnion.org/adc which was named "Paulo Galvão's works for baroque guitar". What it actually links to is this series of webpages:
- http://polyhymnion.org/adc/index-eng.html "Saudades do Antonio da Costa: A Manuscript Found at Oporto", a study by Paulo Galvão
- http://polyhymnion.org/adc/adc-life.htm A short biography of Abade Costa
- http://polyhymnion.org/adc/music-download.htm Various music: one by Paulo Galvão, some by others, most by Antonio da Costa
- http://polyhymnion.org/adc/adc-writings.htm Various snippets of text from Antonio da Costa
So most of this stuff is not about Galvão. Only one piece of music is relevant: PDF sheet music, MIDI version made into MP3.
I think it should not appear in Galvão's external links. Binksternet (talk) 06:10, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
- If you attentively read the citations you will see that "Antonio da Costa" is a pseudonym used by Galvao. --Galassi (talk) 06:24, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
- What reference are you talking about? I don't see it among them.
- At any rate, da Costa was born approximately 1714. This Galvão person is modern. They are not the same guy. Your argument fails to address the point, which is that a "study" written by Paulo Galvão about the life and music of the 18th century musician/composer Abade Antonio da Costa is not notable as part of the biography of Paulo Galvão. It is interesting to see what Galvão has to say about da Costa, but it is not a significant work. Binksternet (talk) 15:50, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
- 1st ref., if you care to read...--Galassi (talk) 16:20, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
- The first ref is a nearly empty index page: http://www.polyhymnion.org/kuprij/index.html
- On that page, if we click on the "Composers A - K" link, we find this URL: http://www.polyhymnion.org/kuprij/composer-a-k.html
- Under that URL the listing for Galvão says that he uses the allonym "Antonio da Costa" and the apparent abbreviation "AdC". There is no proof of this in the URL, and it uses Wikipedia as a reference, making it unfortunately WP:CIRCULAR. Nowhere in the Galvão biography does it give any relevance to the "Antonio da Costa" or "AdC" assertion. Binksternet (talk) 18:19, 28 February 2013 (UTC)
