Sure about his death?

- Not that we could authenticate a message board post, but writer Jon Rogers posted on the Newsarama forums that he isn't dead here --sigmafactor 04:04, 26 October 2007 (UTC)
- Another helpful hint pointing to him being alive is his appearance in Blue Beetle #22 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.27.121.39 (talk) 07:59, 3 January 2008 (UTC)

Earth Four version is alternate?
[edit]The description of Peacemaker in the main article and the Earth 4 version don't really have a clear distinction. He was a Charlton character and the "Earth Four" concept had no purpose other than to allow the Charlton characters to take part in Crisis so they'd be more familiar when their own comics were launched. There was no attempt to use them prior to that.
I've read Crisis several times and no one "fades out" at the end. Part of what made the aftermath of Crisis so confusing is that there’s never a formal, in-book explanation for why the new Earth suddenly changes a few months later. Supergirl goes from reported dead to never existed, Lex Luthor goes from imprisoned felon to respected businessman, Brainiac is an alien again, contradicting the supposedly definitive History of the DC Universe, and virtually everyone including Harbinger is completely mind wiped.
There are plenty of little moments that can be pieced together for an explanation, but almost no one at DC was willing (or allowed) to go on the record with the notable exception of Roy Thomas who was charged with writing off not only his beloved Earth 2 but the entire Justice Society to his obvious dismay.
The only characters who "disappeared" at the end were both confirmed as never having existed in the New Earth and killed in the final battle: Earth 2 Robin, Huntress, and Earth 2 Green Arrow. Technically their bodies were just never found. About midway through the companion series, Who's Who in the DC Universe, some entries were capped with the observation that they no longer exist in the new continuity, at least not in the present day, most notably the Freedom Fighters, again contradicting the end of Crisis.
The "Other versions" section should probably have that part removed, both because it's factually incorrect, because the Earth 4 version IS the main version, and because DC's continuity changes are too numerous to treat them other than as stages in a character's biography.
