mini CD
[edit]I seem to remember that Peaches en Regalia was released as one of the first (if not THE very first) Mini CD single.... PurpleChez (talk) 17:06, 18 January 2013 (UTC)
- I don't know about the first, but the remixed version was released as a mini-cd single to promote the first Rykodisc releases in 1987. I've never even seen a copy of the regular 1970 single version, which was supposedly only made for DJs and Jukeboxes. The last few Zappa singles were released in the mini-CD format. The Roots
[edit]The Roots might have planned it, but they have never actually released a cover of Peaches En Regalia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.65.15.250 (talk) 22:47, 18 December 2013 (UTC)

Supposed single release
[edit]The article currently claims the track was released as a single, b/w "Little Umbrellas," in 1970. This claim is cited to a passing mention in an AllMusic review. But the purported release... does not seem to exist. No such single is listed on Discogs, 45cat, or the otherwise-comprehensive Zappa fansite IINK. The cover art used on this page is actually the cover art of the 1987 mini-CD single release, and it's sourced from Rate Your Music, where it was uploaded by a user with no source given. Unless someone can turn up sources that actually properly document this supposed single, we should probably dump the information about the supposed 1970 release, and update the article to reflect the 1987 CD single release. - I agree. Doctorhawkes (talk) 00:10, 7 April 2023 (UTC)
- It looks like what happened is that the two tracks were intended for single release ("1969 mono single master" versions of both appear on The Hot Rats Sessions), and they were assigned a cat# (Bizarre 0889); but then the mooted release just didn't happen, for whatever reason. But, probably via a trade magazine announcement or the like, the cat# got into public circulation, and the purported single has since been included in discographies as if the single was released (eg a 1989 issue of Record Collector), and this information has been uncritically repeated.
- So, well. I'm going to go ahead and edit the article to reflect the actual 1987 single release of "Peaches en Regalia." Yspaddadenpenkawr (talk) 02:36, 7 April 2023 (UTC)
