File sharing

[edit]

This site isn't a file sharing site, it's a video cataloging site. Ipodman 22:31, 31 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Previous deletion

[edit]

why do you guys want to delete this article? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 86.141.167.240 (talkcontribs).

You can read the deletion discussion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Peekvid.com. As pointed out by the box above, the result was "keep" so it's not going to be deleted. -- intgr 00:13, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Would it be notable to mention the fact that unlike such websites as tv-links.co.uk peekvid hides the links to the content so you can't see where it is coming from, possibly preventing faster deletion of content? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 128.113.146.196 (talk)

Privacy

[edit]

Using alexa as a source for providing private information about the site is unencyclopedic and a violation of BLP, SqueakBox 16:35, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A violation of "BLP"? And by BLP you mean WP:BLP which is "biographies of living persons"? It doesn't apply here. -- intgr 16:54, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What? You have proof the person mentioned isnt living? Or do you think it is fine to publish this person's email address and location. Even were it mnot BLP Alexa clearly isnt an attributable source in this case plus it is a clear case of OR, SqueakBox 17:02, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
What? Are you saying that the web site "peekvid.com" is a living person? I am severely confused at this point. -- intgr 17:33, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No but a person who is alive was mentioned with location and email address and this is this person whose name and details I removed, ie the person to whom the site is registered. Finding about this person on whois or Alexa is OR, SqueakBox 17:36, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Ahh. Indeed, whois records are likely to be unreliable, and such information does not even serve an encyclopedic purpose. -- intgr 17:39, 2 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think peekvid was awesome and everyone misses it. I mean, what about all those shows that are no longer on air or purchaseable through any other means? Why can't we download that? Give me a break government, I mean just give me a break of the kit kat! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.198.91.225 (talk) 05:48, 22 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
