Is there much information out there about Bowker that you know of? I recall reading a couple of interviews with him in the Radio Times around the time of Blackpool and Shakespeare ReTold but I've really struggled to find anything to help get the page up and running beyond IMDB and the odd archive site at the BBC. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Absurdtrousers (talk • contribs) 09:41, 10 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's usually really difficult to find articles about writers so I was surprised to find so much about him! There are a few more that might be of use: Independent 1, Independent 2, Guardian. The Guardian one is the most interesting as it gives more detail on his teaching career and the development of Flesh and Blood; the others give some information about his family. This one narrows his place of birth down to Hazel Grove in Stockport: MEN, so I've added it in. And he's also won or been nominated for several awards: The Agency

Casualty

I'm absolutely certain that Bowker wrote that two part Casualty episode from the early 1990s ('93?) where those thugs hijacked an ambulance and smashed up the A&E (before every episode of Casualty turned out that way). I seem to remember lots of tutting and finger wagging after it went out. I doubt there'll be any interviews with Bowker from the time since he was just a jobbing writer for hire then, but any information would be worth looking out for. I remember it well too. It was called 'Boiling Point' and considered pretty controversial at the time. There's a mention of it in one of the articles I linked to above: Independent and also in an article on that series in its entirety on holby.tv: Casualty series 7.
