[edit]

This is an entirely new article. When I posted it I saw that a previous article about this album had been deleted as non-notable music from an artist without their own WP article. Both reasons surprised me greatly, and I hope that was simply the result of the first article not having been sourced well. However, Planet P Project does now have its own WP article, as does Tony Carey (Planet P Project is his artistic pseudonym), and I hope I have supported notability of the music. The album and a song from it ("What I See") both charted on Billboard, and videos from two of the songs were played, albeit infrequently, on MTV.

Please help with this article if you can! My sources were pretty limited. Allmusic, Billboard, Tony Carey's website, and the CD liner notes were all I could find. I was unable to find an exact release date, though at least two websites (including Allmusic) IMO incorrectly give the year as 1985. I was also unable to find figures for units sold, or how well the album did outside the US. I know the RIAA did not certify it, and I couldn't find German gold certification, but I'm guessing it must have charted there? It was a very German production, though I don't know how things were tracked before German reunification.

In the plot section I have tried to limit content to the unambiguous parts of the storyline. As Tony Carey has said, it's up to the listener to figure out the ambiguous stuff. If you expand that section (and a lot more could be added), I hope you do so without conjecture. It is intended to be open to individual interpretation.

This is only the second article I've created, so it could probably use your help! Dcs002 (talk) 11:04, 17 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Certification & charting outside the US?

[edit]

I do not know how this album performed outside the US. Tony Carey is an American musician, but he had moved to Germany a few years before releasing Pink World, where he still lives, and this was a very German production. If anyone could research its German chart performance or possible certification as gold or anything else I would appreciate it. It was also released in the "UK and Europe" (not terribly sure what that means exactly) on MCA as MCSP 311, and at some point also in Russia. Any help on this album's performance, especially in Germany, would be much appreciated - even if you can just point out where to find such information. Thanks! Plan to move much bio info to Tony Carey & PPP articles

[edit]

I know the bio section is very heavy here, and most of it belongs elsewhere. I am collecting it here for now, with the intention of moving it along soon, leaving a summary here. Dcs002 (talk) 04:08, 30 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
