This article needs more references, and I will try to add them. Jim Heaphy (talk) 06:03, 14 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Between "RURP" and "bongs" I think it's safe to say rock climbers spend a lot of their time getting high in more ways than one.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.73.70.113 (talk) 01:29, 1 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

There is no reason other than advertisement to say "Black diamond currently makes these". Especially since they don't exclusively make them (else it would say in the article). So i'm removing the references to Black Diamond Equipment.

  • the noted names are Trademarks of Black Diamond Equipment, purchased from Chouinard Eq. Ltd. Therefore, they can only be made by Black Diamond, and by no one else. The point is to record the history and evolution of the designs, and note that they are still made in much their design by the 'son' of Chouinard Eq. • point taken but it is not necessary to mention who they are made by, just that they exist and what they do. The problem is that if you mention an exclusive manufacturer, the article becomes an advert which is against the ethos of Wikipedia and indeed any impartial Encyclopedia. Thus the necessity to maintain impartiality in the article quite clearly outweighs the debateable benefit of mentioning the manufacturer. Again, no mention was made of the evolution of the design but it would be quite easy to demonstrate this without mentioning the firm behind it. Please remove the references to Black Diamond. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.228.156.103 (talk) 08:44, 2 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

First we need to link at the mountaineering page

Second, we need a word on camming, chocks and the other destructive piton devices that explains what is meant to a link
