Split out the merged city

[edit]

The city formed on January 1st 2024, is a new entity that shares the name of Plessisville and is composed of the former city of Plessisville and the former parish municipality of Plessisville.

It doesn't seem right to have it on the same page. The information on the page isn't relevant to the new city formed.

The coat of arms, the flag, the motto, the website don't represent the new city. The mayor information is not correct for representing the new city, as the 2 mayors of the former municipalities will alternate every month until the next general election on November 2nd 2025.

The new city will have a new entry in the "Répertoire des municipalités", and in the "Banque de noms de lieux du Québec"

As such, I feel it's more appropriate to create a new page

The new city is represented by the wikidata item Q124101719

First permanent settler?

[edit]

Should the qualifier "European" be added to that assertion? Or is there evidence that Indigenous peoples had no permanent settlements in this precise place? Jcejhay (talk) 13:23, 21 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
