Proposed merge to cemented carbides

Proposal to merge this pobedit article to cemented carbide.

The pobedit article states that "pobedit is a a sintered carbide alloy of about 90% tungsten carbide as a hard phase, and about 10% cobalt (Co) as a binder phase". The tungsten carbide being the carbide and the "binder phase" or Co is the cementing substance. A similar, likely identical, substance is described in cemented carbide#composition in the second paragraph. Other cemented carbides are also described in cemented carbide making the article a superset of this article. I would suggest that "Cemented tungsten carbide was developed in the Soviet Union in 1929" with a reference be added to the history section of cemented carbide.

This pobedit article is a stub article with only dictionary listings as references. I did add the English-language free dictionary link. Cemented carbides of a WC base were said in cemented carbide#history to be developed in Germany in the 1920s. Cemented carbide#Composition states that WC with a Co binder were introduced in 1927, two years earlier than what is claimed for pobedit. It would seem that better sources should be located for pobeit, perhaps The Great Soviet Encyclopedia (1979) as referenced in the free dictionary article. Jim1138 (talk) 10:32, 7 December 2012 (UTC)
