Name and age

[edit]

Sorry but this bridge is not a roman bridge: please see http://www.igespar.pt/pt/patrimonio/pesquisa/geral/patrimonioimovel/detail/70560/ and in http://www.monumentos.pt/Monumentos/forms/002_B2.aspx?CoHa=2_B1 where it says "descripção" put "Ponte Velha das Taipas" to see the cronology of this bridge. Also where was the name of this bridge taken from? I´am from the same municipalitie and never heard this bridge named this way. Thank you. Tm (talk) 08:58, 7 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I did some research and I can confirm that the most reliable sources do not support a Roman date. Only two websites, Structurae and Antikefan designate the bridge as Roman, and only one, Structurae, calls the bridge "Ponte São João". Gun Powder Ma (talk) 14:00, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
