Elephant Jobbies

[edit]

Apparently the most noteworthy and controversial recent addition to Portslade Town Hall is a large brick sculpture by Felicity Hammond which is supposed in some extremely vague fashion to be about climate change or something, but which has been likened by many people to an enormous creature's number twos. Is this perhaps at least as interesting as the ground floor sash windows and some confused (and grammatically nonsensical) burble about a tenuous connection with Ronseal? Perhaps a picture would be helpful? After all, I myself only visited this article about a dull and unimportant building to find out what the much derided artwork looked like, but I ended up having to look on the website of a local newspaper, which unlike Wikipedia doesn't self-identify as an encyclopedia, but did have a very good photo. And yes, it does look as though a brontosaurus went plop-plops. 86.136.178.243 (talk) 11:56, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I remember seeing that newspaper report. It's worth a mention; I'll see what I can do next time I'm in Portslade with my camera. Hassocks5489 (Floreat Hova!) 12:12, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Adding link here for use later. Hassocks5489 (Floreat Hova!) 12:16, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have tweaked the grammar and removed the mention of Ronseal: hopefully it is no longer "confused burble"! Dormskirk (talk) 12:19, 13 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
