Regarding my just recently added article describing premium-efficiency that has been tagged with speedy-deletion aka spam:

Premium-efficiency, or IE3, is a recently legislated EU-standard for power consumption efficiency in electrical motors that will come into effect in European countries in the year 2015. It states that electrical motors as of January 1st 2015 cannot be less effective than the IE3 level.

This is a fact that concerns industrial activities as well as the general public: the progression of emerging environmental consciousness on EU-level manifesting itself through this legislative directive is relevant for all people involved in and sensible about global trends towards reduced CO2 emissons.

The purpose of this article is to recapsulate both historical background to the environmental standards and future impact of recently enacted legislations, as well as giving general explanations of motor efficiency calculations. With this in mind, I can see no complications labeling this article as encyclopedic. In fact, I would be surprised not seeing this information brought public through Wikipedia, as it is aimed at people with interest in industrial manufacturing, motor engineering, EU-legislation, urban- and environmental development, bureaucracy and public opinion/influence.

Within this week, I will complement this article with a second piece describing development of specific IE3 motors. I think this will give you even more background to this EU-legislation and establish this article series as valuable content.

Fredrik, Thanks for your work on this and Premium efficiency motors so far. For what it's worth, a speedy-deletion nomination does not necessarily mean spam: it covers many kinds of articles that are not deemed "encyclopedic." In this case, I would disagree and am glad that this article survived the process. On Talk:Premium efficiency motors, I have suggested that this article and that one could be merged, and that we need another article to talk about the motors themselves. Thank you Chastain. I was a bit startled by the way the speedy-deletion was expressed, but I'm new here so thats why :). I'll try to deal with your ideas on the merging of the articles, which I think is a sound reflection. It demands some work through, so it wont happen immediately. Poorly defined subject matter[edit]

"premium efficiency" is such a ridiculously undefined subject that Wiki probably shouldn't even allow it!

Insurers might use that term to define the efficacy of the fees, known as "premiums", to cover costs.

"Motor" is a term used medically in instances where motion is a factor,,, like muscles, nerves, etc. "Motor" actually means plenty of stuff, as a brief check of a dictionary will reveal.

Power is something autocrats crave and abuse, no physics involved.
