Fixing League Wording, Cleaned up some, and a note about editing it again in 2019

[edit]

Because the mention of this was so unclear about what league they are in on the Quad_Cities, I checked this page for clarity. The note in the History section did clarify it, though the reference on that entry had an error in it, and the wording in the Introduction was not clear at all. Made some fixes, and wanted to make notes.

  1. I edited the introduction to language that made the transition to the IFL more clear.
  2. I fixed a reference error in the Nebraska.tv reference - was just a missing an equal sign.
  3. While I was rebuilding the reference, I added a name to it, so I could also use it as the reference in my Introduction change. It probably doesn't need to stay there long-term, but for now it will make it easier for people coming here to understand the league change, if the cited URL is handy at every mention of that change.
  4. While doing all that I noticed that the mentions of the former Steamwheelers team all put AF2 in lower case, when it's in uppercase on the AF2 page. Without seeing a good reason for the discrepancy, I changed them both to uppercase. If there is some protocol to that, like putting defunct leagues in lower case (though what a weird protocol that would be), please don't undo the whole edit to fix it. Just make that correction in a new edit - and let me know the policy on it, because I'm sure I'll run into that kind of thing again.

NOTE: While their affiliation may already officially have changed, because we're talking about a future season I used future-tense language in the Introduction. But I also tried to use language that was easy to shift. Hence, next year, after the new season starts, someone should change "have joined" to just "joined."

I need a Librarians-style datebook, for fixes like that. CleverTitania (talk) 05:23, 12 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
