File POWE 33/1588 at The (UK) National Archives, at minute (entry) 45, records hangar space at this airfield being offered by the Ministry of Works for government use in March 1953, and being in MoW occupation (at least in respect of one or more hangars) at that date. This of course conflicts with the article in so far as the article suggests complete disposal in 1952, with substantial private sector use begun in 1952. My research interest is in the emergency reserve of vehicle parts to be held in the hangar, so I can shed no more more light on the question of the disposal of the site. The entry is sandwiched between other entries from 1953, so the possibility of the date being an error can be excluded. 167.98.93.94 (talk) 11:25, 15 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
