Eruption 4:00 a.m. local time on June 22, 2019[edit]

this NASA link - has a decent amount of info on the eruption reaching the stratosphere, but also a couple of gorgeous photos - wikicommons can usually use NASA pictures (I think?) so if someone does know how to get them can they sort that out. EdwardLane (talk) 07:30, 26 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Raikoke is said to be "16 kilometres (9.9 mi) distant from the island of Matua". Shore-to-shore, the two islands are 18.02 km (11.2 miles) apart, and centre-to-centre the distance is 23.77 km (14.77 miles). Prisoner of Zenda (talk) 23:29, 7 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
