[edit]I'd like to put this article in chronological order but I need more information about the WWI REC. If you have information, please add it. Biscuittin (talk) 22:08, 28 December 2008 (UTC)
- OK, I have re-arranged it, but additional information is still welcome. Biscuittin (talk) 00:32, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
REC Control
[edit]The article states "REC control lasted from 1914 to 1921" and "REC control lasted from 1939 until the railways were nationalised in 1948" - both statements are unreferenced. Both statements may well be true (many of the provisions of the Defence Regulations - Emergency Powers (Defence) Act were still in effect for a long time after the war). However, the railways did seem to have more control of their actions after the end of the war (revenue, paying dividends, loco building, liveries etc). All my sources have details of the implementation of the emergency provisions and their effect during the war, but say nothing about how much, or little, control was returned to the railways, and when. Any input welcome. Robevans123 (talk) 14:14, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
