Daniel Foss
Daniel Foss is not a "fellow sociologist". See http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?r=1&EAN=9780897890779. He is has been employed as a computer programmer and data base manager for academic and government researchers. Please correct this assumption. ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 19:15, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
I have seen a book in which Daniel Foss is described as a sociologist, but cannot find any indication of such. The book is Social Change by Tim Jordan, Steve Pile, in which they cite them. ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 19:21, 11 November 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. I will look into that cite. Removing that note for now. Curious as to how you found this new page so fast? Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 21:31, 11 November 2007 (UTC).
- ???? See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Whatlinkshere/Ralph_Larkin ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 05:26, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
- That did not answer my question. Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 05:35, 12 November 2007 (UTC).
- I did answer. It was a redlink and now is not. I have added the source, but I have a gut feeling that this is a mistaken identity. I do not see how a computer programmer gets to co-author sociological books and journals. I will try and email him. There is an email address here: http://www.sheepfiends.com/cgi-bin/commentary.cgi?name=Foss_Daniel ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 05:37, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
- If this source is not certain, it should be removed pending confirmation. You still have not told me from where you found this new article? Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 05:39, 12 November 2007 (UTC).
- We have two sources so we are OK, I am just not sure that this is correct. As for your question, I already answered. ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 06:04, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
- You happened to see the link was blue at List of Prem Rawat-related topics and came over here? Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 06:07, 12 November 2007 (UTC).
- Ah... I see, you think that I am following you around? Well, I am sorry to disappoint you, but no, I am not. In any case, note that our edit histories are public and there is no harm in checking other editors' histories. You may want to read WP:STALK#Wikistalking to understand the difference. ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 06:14, 12 November 2007 (UTC)
- You have still not answered my question. I asked: You happened to see the link was blue at List of Prem Rawat-related topics and came over here? - A simple "yes" or "no" would suffice. Thanks. Curt Wilhelm VonSavage 06:15, 12 November 2007 (UTC).

- Great, my gut feeling was spot on. I just found out that Foss was assistant professor of sociology at Rutgers University ... which teach us that some sources seem right while they are not (in this case Barns & Noble and Libris that probably perpetuated the mistake by copying the author data from one another). ≈ jossi ≈ (talk) 05:26, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
