Untitled[edit]

An actual estimate of the adult male population in 1884 would be helpful. I have failed to find one. The quoted statistic, from Britannica 1911, suggests a total population for the UK (1884), which suggests adult male population of about 10 million, depending on demographics; but can anyone get a more precise figure?Septentrionalis 03:01, 20 January 2006 (UTC)

This suggests 28.5% of adults, so presumably ~57% of adult males, so an electorate of 5.5m means about 10,000,000 population. It looks like a decent guess. Shimgray | talk | 12:51, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
