What is a ROFLCOPTER[edit]

It is an ASCII art helicopter made up of dashes, slashes and the internet expression ROFL. It is an internet phenomenon similar to All Your Base which I think was created by some britt. I am not sure actually, hence why I went to look it up, but cannot find anything on it which seems stupid. It is not commonly used as an expression, the expression (similar to LOL or LMAO) would simply be ROFL. The term ROFLCOPTER deserves it's own page. Redirect[edit]

I know this has just been voted for deletion today, but I think it should be redirected to LOL (Internet slang), where ROFLCOPTER already appears.

I agree. I dunno why the page is protected, but I redirected it.  Grue  19:34, 20 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
It's protected to prevent re-creation, I'd assume. — Phil Welch 07:39, 28 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
But AFAIK no one tried to recreate it...  Grue  07:49, 28 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Roflcopter has a definition you know..."Rolling on the floor, laughing, in such a manner reminiscent of Homer Simpson" Alexander 08:57, 11 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Shouldn't this article redirct to Rofl copter ? I would fix it, but it is protected --FunkReverend 22:11, 17 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

ROFLCOPTER - definition: rolling on floor & laughing so hard you end up spinning around in a circle like a helicopter

Double redirect[edit]

{{editprotected}} Please fix the double redirect -- should point to LOL. Dave6 talk 03:51, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Done. --- RockMFR 04:49, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

new redirect[edit]

I think this page should rediredt to ASCII art since there is an example about the infamous roflcopter --Andersmusician NO 01:05, 11 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

This should definitely be moved to ASCII art as ROFL copters are just pictures of helicopters in the ASCII Art genre. It has nothing to do with the word lol, just as spongebob has nothing to do with sponges. I'll go ahead and change this now --MICHAELIPF5SUMANTalk 12:14, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
The page is still locked, even though the LOL page has no references to helicopter pictures. We'll have to get some administrator attention to change the link. The only use of the word LOL in the ROFLcopter is as the pivot for the rotor blades, and the LOL page itself is irrelevant to this. For example: If the Bullet Bill page was deleted and redirected to bullet, the classic Mario character would probably lead to "Increaces of gun crime in Los Angeles" with no relevant information. --MICHAELIPF5SUMANTalk 12:20, 23 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

redirect[edit]

Shouldn't it be redirected to LOL#Variations on the theme? Since it is not exactly "laugh out loud", and it is a variation of LOL.  [ Derek Leung | LM ] 03:33, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Done Agree, so amended. --Redrose64 (talk) 13:28, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Edit request on 14 May 2021[edit]

Change the target from LOL#Variations on the theme (which does not mention this word) to LOL#Related (which does mention it). As an aside, I wonder whether the full protection could be reduced to semi-protection or EC protection? Kleinpecan (talk) 14:08, 14 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done but I've reduced the protection @Kleinpecan: and you may edit it directly now. — xaosflux Talk 17:38, 14 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Kleinpecan (talk) 03:26, 15 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Who Is or Are the Pirate Bay ROFLcopter?[edit]

One of the most promiscuous suppliers of antisemitic, conspiracist, and hate-mongering material on the Internet is the poster roflcopterXXXX, where XXXX is a year in Roman numerals.

It would be nice if his phone company or Internet connection could cut him off, I suppose. His stuff is stupid enough that it may be thought to do not too much damage; censorship is likely to be more dangerous to our society overall.

On the other hand, quite a lot of otherwise upstanding conservative political figures seem to repeat his sometimes distinctive and identifiable nonsense, perhaps unawares, perhaps complicit.

Please! Yes indeed. Thought control did the trick for Stalin and Mao and Xi. Also Pfizer, to the tune of many billions (not citizens but OG DOLLA$$). Whether Commie or Conservative, now that we right-thinking citizens have a bit of power, its crucial we apply it hard and fast to protect the children from illegal immoral crazies. One-sided power is fast and efficient. It even brougjt The Church to its knees, ending eternal corruption by bringing all the damned together forever, burning books and heretics, purifying minds with purifying deeds. Women and children first, of course. Ending every screwy unfair anti-equality bourgeois diversity is one of our Empire's longest-standing creeds. Hilarleo Hey,L.E.O. 08:13, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
