I'd vote no on the Sterling/Rover 800 merge. It seems to me that the creation of a whole new marque and sales organization justifies an article of its own. RivGuySC 00:16, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- Not really - it's a rather short story, and it's all about the 800. It could fit nicely within the Rover 800 article. Actually, one would need to say everything what there is to say about the Sterling in the Rover 800 article anyway if it was to be complete. It's an artificial split to me. - There would be justification for the distinct article on the marque if it had ever become successful, but it wasn't particularly glorious. As such, it makes sense to merge which has has the extra advantage of avoiding any confusion over the Sterling marque in North America and the Sterling trim level in the UK. – Kieran T (talk | contribs) 11:07, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
- I concur with RivGuySC. I've re-written some parts as well as rearranged the Sterling article so that it doesn't sound like the article is all for describing the car rather than the marque. The external link posted has more information but I'm afraid to copy it word by word to the article so I did not do it. Someone more knowledgeable can perhaps add a "history" section for the article and put in similar information presented in the linked website. Anyway, just some suggestions. As for now I'll remove the merge articles tags but if someone has strong justification for not having the Sterling article on its own I have no objection to having those tags put up again.Car-craver 03:28, 11 November 2006 (UTC)
