Taxonomy[edit]

The Plant List currently has this as a synonym, and cites Tropicos. Tropico has no references supporting synonymy (and no other references than the description). As the genus was relatively recently described (by the same person who described the sole species 27 year earlier), it seems unlikely that anybody has explicitly synoymized it. The Plant List should not be treating it as a synonym in the absence of explicit synonymy (and as this is a Tropicos derived record rather than WCSP, the synonymy is basically an error by TPL when it incorporated the record from Tropicos).
