Running In Ancient Greece

[edit]

Running was important because it was used in everyday life such as things like sending messages, gladiator battles, self-honour, and to honour the gods such as Zeus. It was also the most popular sport in Ancient Greece. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.166.38.88 (talk) 08:14, 22 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Effects of ancient Olympics on the modern world

[edit]

This whole section feels out of place in this article. However, I'm not sure if it's appropriate for me to just delete it without asking for perspective. Does it feel misplaced to anybody else? 129.41.87.2 (talk) 15:15, 15 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Same user as the comment I'm responding to. I went ahead and deleted the section. There may be content that can be reused in a different article about the Olympics, but it just didn't fit in an article about running. 136.54.249.184 (talk) 18:31, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
