Kit differences between branches and Block II additions
[edit]This page needs some info added on differences between kit items per branch and the Block II additions like the EOTech 553 holographic sight and RIS II. I found a site here [1] saying Force Recon, for example, issues three specific pieces of kit that USSOCOM doesn't: The Norgon ambidextrous magazine catch; the DPMS ambidextrous selector switch and the Badger Ordnance extended charging handle latch. Only problem is, the site is dated 2001 and it's no secret that defense tech (especially in the US military) advances at a mile a minute, so I don't know how up-to-date it is. And being a civvie, I'm not exactly privy to higher-level info. Spartan198 (talk) 13:21, 24 December 2009 (UTC)

Other weapons?
[edit]Hi, here [2] (yes, it's IMFDB) you have an image of a SOPMOD PK machine gun, by Black Heart International. So is it an incorrect usage of the term SOPMOD, a recycled sopmod, or do other weapon sets exist? Thanks, --Amendola90 (talk) 14:09, 5 July 2011 (UTC)
M16A5
[edit]What's M16A5 and why is it listed as SOPMOD compatible firearm? Maybe it's meant to say M16A4? 109.197.224.218 (talk) 15:14, 28 November 2014 (UTC)
Sources for Block II components
[edit]So, crazy thing is, I can't find any official sources on what's in Block II. Sure, there's everybody's "clone Block II" forum threads but nothing official that lays out the parts. I only included the few Block II parts that were listed ~2007 but nothing's been mentioned about SOPMOD since then. Would appreciate if anyone has found any.Jasonkwe (talk) (contribs) 03:14, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
Standing notice: Please don't make a URG-I section (it's not SOPMOD)
[edit]I like the URG-I and all but it's not a sopmod program. SOCOM lets NSWC Crane manage most of their acquisition stuff so SOPMOD was an NSW show. URG-I was a USASOC program for Army SF.Jasonkwe (talk) (contribs) 03:17, 14 June 2022 (UTC)
