Ship length errors

The ship's "lengthened" number is shorter than the original stated length, and the initial number looks wrong. First mention: "The ship was 184 feet long, 31 feet wide, and 11 feet in depth..." Later note: "In 1911, America was lengthened to 183 feet..."
