Sago Palm weevil in Ecuador[edit]

I removed the Ecuador reference. The reference only mentions palm weevils, not Sago palm weevils, and the Sago palm does not seem to be native or cultivated in South America. Matthias5 (talk) 17:06, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Other places[edit]

Perhaps they don;t call it Sago Palm (Locally called Possée or something like that) but in the DRCongo they eat this too —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.96.208.130 (talk) 17:28, 21 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merge?[edit]

I suggest that this article be merged with the Rhynchophorus ferrugineus article.Aderksen (talk) 04:34, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

  • For the record, this is another problematic common name for a species. Lots of folks the world over utilize palm weevils of different species as a food resource. I recommend that this article be merged or redirected specifically to the Red palm weevil page, and citations be used to support the "food use" section. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aderksen (talkcontribs) 15:57, 11 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
