Is Sam's Town
[edit]Is Sam's Town supposed to sound completely different from it's original album? The song Sam's Town sound extrememly different. --Rebirth 03:10, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
- Why don't you just tell everyone you steal music? --Alexbuirds 20:27, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- Just because I download music doesn't mean I steal it too, I have their other album and two singles. Downloading and then buying their CD after is a different thing than just pirating it.--Rebirth 23:25, 2 September 2006 (UTC)
- I think some two-bit band is uploading their crappy songs to Limewire under the name Sam's Town. The song I downloaded didn't sound anything like them at all (in fact, it sounded EXACTLY like the crappy American rock you'd find on the soundtrack to an Xbox racing game), and I soon realised it wasn't Sam's Town.

Since it hasn't leaked yet, I find it hard to believe he's stolen anything, he's probably heard a couple of live tracks. --fishypants
There are fan recordings of some of the songs from their current tour. The album itself hasen't leaked yet. Vjasper 07:14, 9 September 2006
Anyone seen their video of Bones? --Andrew Chung 12:42, 20 September 2006 (UTC)
The Name Sam's Town
[edit]I believe "Sam's Town" is talking about Las Vegas itself, not a specific hotel. I recall hearing that in an interview somewhere, but I can't remember where. Does anyone has a link that would support either view? Vjasper 07:15, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
No, it is a very famous hotel in Las Vegas so maybe 'Sam's Town' is all about Las Vegas but it is the name of the hotel, so I don't know about that.
Would the Title not be named after the rv park 'sam's town', because the cd does have an rv on the cover. Elucas8 (talk) 01:00, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
What's strange though, is the fact that it says here that 'Sam's Town' is going to be the third single, but on the Wiki of The Killers (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Killers_%28band%29) it says that 'Read My Mind' is going to be their 3rd single. And I believe it ís Read My Mind, not Sam's Town. So...
Sams town is a nickname for vegas, the hotel takes its name from this, so shouldnt the album named after the nickname?
Fan Responses
[edit]Does anybody else think this section should deleted ? Or at least changed to 'critical response'. I have added a reference tag to it at this stage. Stonemaccas
I agree, there appears to have been somewhat of a critical backlash against the Killers, possibly in response to Flowers boasting. -Duhon
Yeah, good idea ^^
For Reasons Unknown
[edit]Just for clarification, the actual title of that song IS "For Reasons Unknown," correct? iTunes identifies it as "For Reason's Unknown."
- Wouldn't be the first time iTunes can't spell. The only trustworthy source is the back of the jewel case. — Ashmodai (talk · contribs) 04:49, 16 November 2006 (UTC)
Yup...it's For Reasons Unkown, iTunes sucks =p
Best Buy CD
[edit]The bonus tracks advertised on the Best Buy version of the CD are not actually on the main disk. The "Best Buy Bonus Disk" is the seperate disk which accompanies the normal album, which only contains two tracks. Vjasper 19:13, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
- Oh an additional CD? I didn't know that. My CD came with 14 tracks on one cd. Is there some special album art on it as well? Mine came with the two album phamplets, the normal one with pictures and another one with lyrics and a few pages written in jap (which i cant read so i dont know what it says). Does anyone have a slight clue what it says in the japanese phamplet?
- The bonus CD comes in a thin CD holder. The front says "The Killers" and has a picture very similar to the one on the back of the normal CD (their just in a different pose). The back of the case just has a picture of a trailer door. The CD itself has a picture of desert scenery on it (nothing fancy). There is no extra booklet or anything, and I have no idea what the Jap booklet says. Vjasper 19:40, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Oooh cool, mind if you show me a picture? I'll show you a picture of the obi strip :) yeah nothing fancy, its in pink and i cant even read it. What frustrates me though, i cant fit the obi strip around the cd spine after i removed the packaging...any ideas on how to do that? I really would like the obi strip on the cd spine instead of in the booklet... Haha i love my cd though, its my first jap import and it cost me a bit lol, stupid low AUS currency :-/ Oh and btw, the Japanese Release Date is actually 29th Sept, 2006, not 27 Sept 2006. I read it off the obi strip :) (see it has its uses :)) do you think i should change it?
more songs
[edit]i heard that there are some extra songs from sam's town like replaceable or soft surrender. does anyone know what this is about? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 80.189.197.95 (talk) 22:18, 13 March 2007 (UTC).
I believe those are songs from when The Killers started out, and thus they have nothing to do with Sam's Town. Vjasper 23:59, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
Replaceable is an early song, and Soft Surrender is a b-side to Hot Fuss I think. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 85.166.16.193 (talk) 08:03, 26 April 2008 (UTC)
Trivia
[edit]Ok, lets nip this in the arse before it gets out of hand... what is the deal with this trivia is discourages. Sometimes trivia doesn't fit itno any ither text but still releates to the subject and is interesting. If anything an encyclopedia should be interesting. GrahamGRA 21:26, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- If you have a problem with the Wikipedia policy of discouraging trivia sections, you should argue that point at WT:TRIVIA, not here. --PEJL 11:15, 21 September 2007 (UTC)
Fair use rationale for Image:Samstown.jpg
[edit]Image:Samstown.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Enterlude / Exitlude
[edit]What is the source of the Brandon Flowers songwriting credits for "Enterlude" and "Exitlude"? The booklet of my copy doesn't credit anyone with writing these. -- Der Meister (talk) 14:09, 9 September 2010 (UTC)
