[edit]This article says that the SSP was founded in 1964, but only lists a general secretary from 1969 to 1971. The Praja Socialist Party (PSP) article, however, claims that the SSP broke off in 1969, which might suggest that the "1964" in this article was a typo. However, the George Fernandes article says that he ran on the SSP party ticket in 1967.
I'd appreciate it if somebody who actually knows something about this could fix whichever one of the SSP and PSP articles is mistaken. Thanks, David Schaich Talk/Cont 04:30, 1 August 2006 (UTC).
- SSP took part in the 1967 elections. See [1]. --Soman 08:25, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
- See [2]. It appears the split took place in 1964 after all. Also it appears that Lohia's party joun ed SSP, and that the party was led by Lohia until Fernandes became the leader. --Soman 08:47, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
- See also [3] for details on the complicated history of the Indian socialists. --Soman 08:51, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
