Suicide Doors?

I've never seen these doors referred to as such, and am only familiar with reversed hinged doors (1960's Lincoln) having doors that were referred to as "Suicide doors". Anyone? --70.247.191.88 (talk) 01:40, 11 May 2008 (UTC)

Suicide doors are the ones that open backwards. They're called suicide as if you try to bail out, the door will catch, and drag you, severely injuring or killing you. I'd like to know who tf calls them "beetle-wing doors, turtles, switchblade doors". The article currently contains the horribly un-encyclopedic sentence. "Scissor doors can be powered and they usually are." I've never heard of powered scissor doors, but it's been a while since I was Lamborghini-crazy. Still I would bet that anything before Murcielago was not powered. At the least, the article should say since when powering the doors has become usual. Maybe name a few particular models.
