Marine?
[edit]The scotch boiler is not exclusively a marine type. Many stationary boilers, particularly mid-sized package boilers, have been scotch type. I suggest this article title should be just Scotch boiler (which currently redirects here). Globbet (talk) 22:25, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- Few things are absolutely black and white - but the name in that form is widely used (check the refs), the text of the article already covers this in the first sentence and the type was vastly more common on ships than it was on land. Andy Dingley (talk) 23:57, 9 July 2009 (UTC)
- This one uses "scotch boiler": Griffiths, Denis, FIMarE (1997). Steam at Sea: two centuries of steam-powered ships. London: Conway Maririme Press. ISBN 0851776663.

- I don't want to get involved in the discussion, but both the article name and the redirect can (and should) be mentioned at the start -- so I've been bold and done just that. EdJogg (talk) 11:10, 14 July 2009 (UTC)
