CoA supported by two red lions

[edit]

Image:Rsgrb.jpg Is this the new Coat of Arms of Republika Srpska, or has the proposal failed (been vetoed or otherwise) ?

It appears that around 15 July 2008 the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska adopted this CoA, choosing it among five different proposals. - See:

Currently, this CoA is displayed at "Internet portal of Republika Srpska: coat of arms and flag" (text in Serbian), a website of unclear status.

It is not mentioned however in the symbols section of the official website of the government of RS, the symbols section of the official website of the National Assembly of RS, or the symbols section of the official website of the President of RS.

The articles & messages linked above mention that the CoA could be vetoed for the same reasons that led to the deprecation of the previous CoA. - See also:

Can we find an official confirmation of what happened ? - Regards, Ev (talk) 21:45, 12 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You are correct, that is the most recent CoA of the lesser entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina (as it is refered in the greater entity). I would stress that most neutral way to write the name of that particular entity is Bosnian and Herzegovinian entity of Republic of Srpska.
The official source can be produced in the form of a proposal act which can be found in the minutes of the session of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska within Bosnia and Herzegovina (National Assembly of the Bosnian and Herzegovinian entity of Republic of Srpska)
On this link you would be able to find materials that were used in the 22nd session of the National Assembly of the Bosnian and Herzegovinian entity of Republic of Srpska.
Sadly enough the webmasters of the National Assembly of the Bosnian and Herzegovinian entity of Republic of Srpska have not updated the symbols page.
In any case the Emblem is still valid and is most definately in use, probably due to costs of introducing the new CoA. It would be badly spent money if the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina find the new CoA unconstitutional.
Hope this helps. -- Imbris (talk) 00:32, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Of course it helps, Imbris, thank you :-) But I'm afraid that I don't speak or understand Slavic languages beyond the basics of pivo & spasibo, so in this case someone else will have to digg up the relevant material. - Best, Ev (talk) 18:40, 13 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I found the following article (in Serbian):

Could someone explain what it says ? Thank you :-) Ev (talk) 18:12, 14 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

unconstitutional

The new red lion CoA was ruled unconstitutional by the Constitutional Court of RS in December 2008! -- Noirceuil (talk) 10:32, 4 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
