Merge
[edit]In this context, "Seeing with your ears" is simply a tag-line used by a particular company for their visual prosthetic sensory substitution device that enhances human echolocation acoustic location. Should this article merge to one or the other or both? -AED 17:16, 30 May 2006 (UTC)last edited 04:27, 20 June 2006 (UTC) (UTC)
- It is not about echolocation because it does not involve sound reflections and uses visual input from a camera (or image): don't merge with echolocation.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 82.171.188.188 (talk • contribs) 16:19, 1 June 2006 (UTC).
- You are correct. I have changed the merge header and my comments to reflect that. -AED 20:08, 1 June 2006 (UTC)
I placed a merge request to replace the redirect. Please don't redirect if they are different topics. I don't really feel they should merge but they shouldn't be redirected either.--Jondel 00:46, 2 June 2006 (UTC)
Any reason this shouldn't merge to Sensory substitution? -AED 04:27, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Shouldn't that be more generic,/all senses including touch ,smell while these ones , auditory and sight?--Jondel 05:01, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
Is there an article that details Vision substitution? -AED 23:15, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
None, lets make one? Or disambig, or mention 'see Seeing with your ears' etc. and other 'see whatever'.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Jondel (talk • contribs) 00:45, 21 June 2006 (UTC).
I can't tell if you're asking a question or making a statement. First of all, Sensory substitution exists and already contains information about vOICE. There doesn't appear to be enough information there to fork Vision substituion from it. Secondly, "Seeing with your ears" is a tagline for vOICE. Per WP:MOS, the article title is supposed to be about the subject of the article... not its tagline. -AED 04:37, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
- It might be good to make an article for Vision substitution or at least a redirect/disambiguity page (in the interest of blind people).I wanted your opinion if we should make an article about Vision substitution . I feel we should make one. If the article the Seeing with your ears needs tobe moved to vOICE as I understood what you indicate about WP:MOS, then so be it. --Jondel 06:46, 21 June 2006 (UTC)
