Down hunted
[edit]A down hunted ona? Wouldn't "dead" or "killed" or "murdered" be more accurate? I mean, we're not talking about wild game here. 74.78.98.109 (talk) 08:41, 21 March 2008 (UTC)
- I know it sounds inhuman under current moral standards (and perhaps even by then), but there was indeed such a thing as "human hunts" in the past against people living in the wild. Cambalachero (talk) 15:11, 16 June 2011 (UTC)
Contradiction
[edit]The infobox says there are 505 Selknam, yet the article says they're extinct. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.211.34.225 (talk) 06:22, 19 August 2013 (UTC)
According to 2001's argentinian census 505 people identify as selk'nam and there's a bigger number of people (over 1000) that claims to posses some degree of selk'nam blood. Tomás Vicente (talk) 04:10, 21 September 2017 (UTC)
According to the Argentinian census of 2010, there are 2761 Selk'nam now. Tomás Vicente (talk) 02:07, 25 November 2017 (UTC)
Keyuk Yanten
[edit]He Is not the last selk'nam nor a linguistic prodigy, over a thousand people claim selk'nam ancestry in Argentina and he Is criticized by indigenous communities in facebook and a chilean anthropologist for being a fraud and a liar who pretended to speak several indigenous languages but refused to speak when confronted by other speakers such as the Kaweskar and the Tehuelche community. Chile's Flag
[edit]If the census comes from Argentina, which is demonstrated by the ending ".ar" in the link's page. Why is the Chilean flag the icon instead of the Argentinian one? Besides, Chile doesn't recognize the Selk'nam because nobody has successfully proved Selk'nam ancestors, while Argentina does. Tomás Vicente (talk) 01:27, 24 November 2017 (UTC)
¿Why does the administration ask me to use the talk page if nobody else is even going to try and use it as well? They would rather let a mistake go unchecked than actually check the sources themselves and realize who is on the wrong side.... Tomás Vicente (talk) 23:02, 2 December 2017 (UTC)

Flag?
[edit]What is the validity of this flag, exactly? What is it based on? I'm not sure it is an authentic flag used by the Selk'nam people themselves, but a "fanmade" flag made by a passionate of flags with no official capacity or recognition by Selk'nam peoples. Might be wrong. 166.62.226.9 (talk) 21:26, 30 June 2023 (UTC)
