[edit]The 30th Year Reunion Homecoming Weekend was Oct 16-17, 1992.
The original motto of the school was "Servo" - I serve. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.66.42.226 (talk) 00:01, 6 January 2008 (UTC)
Definitely - I'm looking at two award logos with "servo" on them. Don't know when the motto changed.
Link to Youtube
[edit]The first link to do with the Sentinel Band program was put in a long time ago by me. If someone feels like disputing the use of this link, or thinks that it should go in the External Links section, talk about it here. Ace blazer (talk) 01:52, 22 July 2008 (UTC)
Founding of Sentinel
[edit]I've seen that some people think that the school was founded 20 or 45 years ago and that efforts have been made back and forth to change this. Hopefully this should stop here. The box on the side of the article states that the school was founded as Hillside High School ~1960's (real date not known). Having seen the Grad photos on the walls myself, I can safely say that the school was around at least during the 1960's. Also I know several people that went to the school more than 20 years ago. I believe the school opened in 1962. I attended as a grade 8 in 1964 and believe there had been two (or maybe three) years before us. We were the first class to attend Sentinel for all five years before graduation (in 1969).
I was one of many students to attend Sentinel from the day it opened in 1963 and can tell you it was NOT founded as Hillside School. It was attended by a combination of students from both Hillside School and Inglewood School. Both Hillside and Inglewood schools were subsequently closed after Sentinel School was officially opened. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2001:569:7389:1B00:B837:661C:5074:BCE3 (talk) 06:03, 27 August 2018 (UTC)
Errors in the Sentinel Article
[edit]Many people have noticed that the article on Sentinel seems to be full of mistakes and errors. Please be advised that the Sentinel Secondary Wikipedia article was originally created as a Social Studies "media awareness" assignment. It was deliberately filled with factual errors in order to teach students that one can't believe everything just because it's on the Internet.Unfortunately, many people in the community have assumed it's true and accurate! Fortunately, many of the errors are being edited out.I hope this helps clear up some of the confusion. -OCDarcy —Preceding unsigned comment added by OCDarcy (talk • contribs) 16:55, 19 September 2010 (UTC)
Contribute to the other languages
[edit]Candy wish club have made a huge range of different version for Sentinel Secondary School. Although some of the languages don't work out till now, we invite you to enjoy this new Wikipedia project. Also, if you want to join our team, please leave me message on my page, Williamlyng (talk) 04:53, 4 April 2012 (UTC). Sentinel, as the first school in North America having more than 4 languages translated on Wikipedia, would become the greatest school in North Shore!
