Name of the article[edit]

Severia rewritten in haste, so corrections are welcome. The current name seems to have been invented by anon who created this stub. I'm not even sure if it exists in English outside Wiki. Also, the duplication of data with Bryansk and Trubchevsk should better be avoided. --Ghirlandajo 15:39, 9 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Should it be Siveria. Since this exists as a redirect, the "move this page" might not work. But after a preliminary exchange of opinions, I will propose the move at WP:RM, should there be a prelim consensus here. Ghirlandajo and Irpen: I created the original stub (I was anon at the time) in English and German. The name “Severia” was not invented and does exist in English. Below are numerous references. On the other hand, I have not encountered “Siveria” outside of internet references (usually on Ukrainian sites). Do a Google search of “Severia” and you will come up with a few diverse historical sites using this spelling. The German name is more of a problem – I’ve seen references to Severien and Sewerien both offline and online. I don’t know Russian but I would guess that княжество Северское is “Duchy of Severia.” What would the correct form without the княжество be? Would Russian use the -щина form or would it be something like Северия? Anyway, I enjoyed learning about Severia which I knew nothing about.
