Deletion[edit]

The discussion for deletion has been over with the issue resolved. Still there are few issues I want to point out. The assumption that a person is eligible for a biographical article because of his Google hits is really unfair for a person who is dedicated to reserch and lacks the germs of "wanna be celebrity". Similarly the criteria for judging the number of research papers is the most unacademic. Anybody who is associated with research will agree that along with numbers the quality counts big time. A graduate student or freshly appointed Assistant Professor may have a dozen publications but he may not even have a single IEEE transaction. The repute of the punblication is the most important criteria is acknowledging one's work. A person associated with research in the field of Electrical Engineering and Computers may verify that IEEE transactions are the most reputeable journals for publications in the above stated fields. A student like me may increase his Google hits by creating a few blogs and a few web pages, may get a few publications online and in a few journals but most probably his first IEEE transaction publication will come from his doctoral research. By the way, I think being listed in Who is who does makes one valid for a biographical article and I think that the biographical article for David Kelly does deserve a deletion tag. voldemortuet
