Duplicate refs

[edit]

The reference list is seriously messed up. All the work is cited, but there shouldn't be duplicate references in the actual reference list like that. i'm not patient enough to actually go through and fix it, but someone should. Gschliss (talk) 15:12, 5 May 2016 (UTC) Gavin[reply]

I've gone through and fixed the duplicates (I think I got all of them. It's a decent article, but could definitely be improved with some figures. T.Shafee(Evo&Evo)talk 02:55, 7 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge

[edit]

As Blythwood has noted, there are two articles on the same topic. I propose merging Short interspersed nuclear element into this one, or vice versa. But I reverted the redirect of this article, as this just buries good content in an article history invisible to the casual editor. Evolution and evolvability and Blythwood, what are your thoughts? -—Mark viking (talk) 17:47, 7 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Happy to support merging worthwhile content into the Short interspersed nuclear element article. It's senior and better-organised, even if it's shorter, so I think its author should get credit. Blythwood (talk) 18:40, 7 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I agree that a merge would be sensible. There seems to be useful information in both. Ideally the main writers of the two articles (Omaraljammal & E.kushkowski) could work together on the merge. Although neither has been active recently, they might be coaxed out of retirement. T.Shafee(Evo&Evo)talk 11:32, 8 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with the merge! Mariuswalter (talk) 18:58, 10 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I just discovered the duplicate articles right now by accident. I agree with merging. Deleet (talk) 20:49, 14 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
