Fate of the Narn prisoner

[edit]

It's an interesting choice that they decided to leave the fate of the imprisoned Narn undecided. On the surface, it seems logical the Narn was freed - after all, Vir is no murderer. However, the fact that this Narn (along with the one killed earlier) has a blood oath against Lyndisty, it's a little more complex. Narn blood oaths are covered back in season 1 - they are unbreakable; either the target dies, or the Narn (and any other Narn who takes up the first's cause) die trying, and even authority figures like G'Kar can't overrule them (I'd give the reference if I could remember the episode - G'Kar had dealings with someone whom Na'Toth had a blood oath. So with this Narn freed, Lyndisty would again be hunted. Yet she shows no signs of keeping a wary eye out when seen in the finale (or that could just be her demeanor). I'm not certain if the style rules for this kind of article allow any discussion of the question, but I suggest that it's at least worth pointing out that we never see what happens to the captive Narn. (Personally, I think Vir would have freed him and Lyndisty would have killed him quietly the next time she had the opportunity, but there's no basis for that beyond my understanding of the characters and Straczynski's writing) 24.69.201.248 (talk) 14:47, 12 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
