I've just shown him on a video on youtube. In '78(?) he was playing with peter gabriel at a gig in the german tv show "rockpalast". He is playing on a curious instrument, i don't know what it is... Thanks for more information...

Absolutely right. He became well known as a versatile string artist all over Europe thru the Peter Gabriel Rockpalast gig in 1978 and not thru some shitty U.S TV entertainer.
